POSITION: Developer

Boston Logic is looking for a talented Developer to create, support and maintain our client websites.

OVERVIEW:

We’re seeking someone who enjoys the fast paced environment of a small development company.  The successful candidate is a web developer with 1 to 3 years experience in web development.  Experience building websites in PHP or Ruby on Rails is preferred, but an ability to learn new skills quickly is a must.  Strong technical skills coupled with solid client interaction skills are a key component of this job.

QUALIFICATIONS:

As these are the tools/skills we use on a regular basis, the following ideal candidate will have experience with some or all of the following:

• Ruby and Rails
• PHP (understanding of OO concepts in PHP)
• MySQL
• Subversion
• HTML/CSS (and understand the difference of css based layout and table based layout)
• Javascript (ideally you've had exposure to one of prototype/scriptaculous)
• Comfortable with the linux shell
• Capistrano
• Agile development
• MVC frameworks (and know what belongs where)
• Ability to work as part of a group
• Good client communication skills

We're not looking for designers at this point, nor are we looking for offshore outsourcing.  We're looking for smart people who enjoy working on a variety of different projects.  Strong code is much more important then years of experience.

POSITION: Sales Associate

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual who has the ability to adapt and learn quickly as needs arises. Strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team are important. A desire to be part of and grow with a startup is a fundamental requirement for this position. Demonstrated performance in a similar sales environment is essential. Candidate must be very personable with the ability to elicit trust and enthusiasm from perfect strangers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate has between 1 and 5 years of sales experience and is familiar with internet technologies and marketing. A working knowledge of the real estate industry is a major plus. Experience in the mortgage or legal industries will be helpful. Knowledge of web technologies and/or online marketing methods would be helpful.

POSITION: Web Designer

Boston Logic is looking for a talented Web Designer to create, support and maintain our client websites. You must have a fundamental grasp in graphic design theory with strong skills in Photoshop and or Illustrator to communicate our client’s needs in an esthetically appealing way. Good understanding of user interface design associated with website usability is essential. Your responsibilities will range from website comp design to converting the design into a functional website. There will also be opportunities to explore your creative side with some logo design and print work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We’re seeking someone who enjoys the fast paced environment of a small development company. The successful candidate is a web designer/developer with 1 to 3 years (recent) experience in site design and development. Experience with developing corporate websites, usability applications, and graphic/GUI web design is essential. Strong technical skills coupled with superior client interaction skills are a key component of this job.

You should be well versed in XHTML coding, ideally able to code by hand although knowledge in Dreamweaver is helpful also. Familiarity with web 2.0 style of site development is essential. You must possess thorough understanding of site development with CSS standards. Knowledge and experience with other web technologies including JavaScript, Ajax, PHP, Flash, and Actionscript are a plus. If you still lay sites out in tables, or if you don’t know what www.csszengarden.com, or www.alistapart.com is, or if you think IE is the best browser out there, then this position is probably not for you. However, if you meet the qualities outlined above we’d really like to talk to you.
